How to Dye Easter Eggs (The Monkey Way) - 02/26/2013

                                                                                    Step 1: Collect Supplies We usually use the little dye tablets. Not as amazing as dying eggs from beets or whatnot, but much faster. You will also need cups for the dyes and extras to decorate the eggs after they dry. Spoons to pick up the eggs are unnecessary. Newspaper or some other surface protector is a must. Step 2: Boil Eggs and Prepare Dyes We always hard boil our eggs. Let them cool completely before dying. While the eggs are cooking, follow the package directions to make the dyes. Usually it takes vinegar and water. Step 3: Dye Eggs Drop the eggs into the cups. No tools necessary. Crack about half the eggs. Prepare to get extremely messy. The longer you leave the eggs in, the darker the colors will get. Experiment with dying in multiple colors, dying stripes, adding writing with a clear wax crayon, or even putting glue on the egg. Step 4: Dry Eggs Place the eggs back into the egg carton to dry. Cardboard egg cartons are best because they absorb the little bits of liquid from the bottom of the eggs. Step 5: Embellish Eggs Add stickers, monster eyes, writing, or anything else you want.
